Africa Roundtable on the Theology of Generosity & Fundraising

Engaging with Africa’s leading voices on generosity, stewardship and giving to God’s mission

2 – 6 February 2026, Brackenhurst Conference Centre, Limuru, Kenya

Why an Africa Roundtable on Generosity & Fundraising?

According to the CAF World Giving Index 2024, African nations such as Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, and Uganda rank among the top ten countries in the world for helping strangers, volunteering, and donating to charity.

Yet, while Africans lead the world in generosity, the theology and training that shape Christian leaders and mission workers thinking about stewardship and fundraising have been developed in the Global North, and through North American or European economic and cultural lenses.

Such teaching resources on generosity and training frameworks, though valuable, often overlook the profound spiritual insights, communal values, and lived realities of African churches.

As the Africa Study Bible affirms, the 21st century is a time of mission opportunity and responsibility for the African church. God is calling African churches to send workers and to shape global mission thinking.

This is already happening. From Lagos to Lusaka and Nairobi to Niamey, African believers are funding missionaries, supporting Bible translations, and supporting ministries through models of giving that are biblically grounded, culturally resonant, and locally sustained.

The Africa Roundtable on the Theology of Generosity & Fundraising is creating a space for theologians, pastors, fundraisers, and mission leaders to reflect on what it means to give, to send, and to sustain God’s work from Africa to the world.

What to Expect

Who Should Attend?

African theologians and biblical scholars

who are engaging with African hermeneutics, stewardship, generosity, prosperity teaching, or reconstruction theology.

Leaders of mission agencies, church-planting movements, and diaspora initiatives

who are mobilising resources for African-led mission and can share real-life models and stories.

Fundraisers and communications leads

serving African-led churches, ministries, NGOs, and theological institutions, especially those cultivating local donor bases and moving away from donor dependency.

Bible college students, youth pastors

and innovators in digital mobilisation or grassroots giving—those who show strong potential to shape future thinking and practice around generosity and mission.
