What is Fundraising for Christian Mission?

Fundraising for Christian ministries is the intentional and prayerful process of mobilising financial resources and support to advance the mission of spreading the Gospel, serving local communities in need, and creating expressions of God’s Kingdom here on earth.

This involves inviting believers from all walks of life to give from what God has entrusted them with, cultivating lasting relationships, and promoting a culture of generosity that is rooted in biblical principles of stewardship and giving.

Polycentric fundraising is a strategy that involves mobilising resources from multiple centres of influence across different regions and cultures.

Unlike traditional models that rely heavily on resources from one or a few places, polycentric fundraising encourages collaboration and support for Christian mission work from diverse global communities, empowering local churches and ministries to sustain and grow their own missions while fostering interdependence rather than dependency.

Our Commitment to Biblical Integrity in Fundraising

As ministry leaders and fundraisers, we are committed to carrying out our day-to-day activities by staying true to the principles outlined in the Bible.

We are individual and collectively committed to:

  • Stewardship We believe that all resources belong to God, and we are called to be faithful stewards of all the gifts He has entrusted to us. (1 Corinthians 4:2)
  • Faith in God We trust in God's provision and guidance, believing that He will supply all the needs of the churches and ministries we serve according to His riches in glory. (Philippians 4:19)
  • Generosity We believe in the power of giving, and we encourage a spirit of generosity among those we serve and those who support our cause, believing that by giving to others we become more like Jesus. (Philippians 2:4-5)
  • A Passion for God We are united by our calling and desire to unlock resource for fulfilling the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:16 – 20)
  • Integrity We commit to conducting all fundraising and marketing activities with honesty, transparency, and integrity, avoiding deceitful practices and manipulation. (Proverbs 11:1)
  • Prayer We commit to seeking God's wisdom and guidance for our fundraising plans and activities through prayer in the power of the Holy Spirit, acknowledging that without Him, our efforts are in vain. (Philippians 4:6)
  • Spiritual Warfare We are fully aware that as fundraisers for Kingdom causes, we are in the business of inviting Christians to put God rather than Mammon on the throne of their lives. And as we do this, we will be prepared to fight against an enemy that seeks to kill, steal, and destroy. (Ephesians 6:10-18)
  • Gratitude We will express gratitude and appreciation to all supporters in warm and authentic ways, acknowledging that every gift, regardless of size, is a blessing from God. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
  • Building Community We aim to build an interdependent community of supporters, local partners, and beneficiaries, fostering unity between givers and receivers, so they can encourage each other in love and good deeds. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
  • Ministry to Supporters We will model Christlikeness in our fundraising, being ready to go so further than ‘the ask.’ We are committed to building authentic relationships, encouraging supporters to grow spiritually and affirming them in their lives and service to God. (1. Thessalonians 5:11)
  • Accountability We will be accountable for the funds we raise, ensuring that they are used wisely and in accordance with the mission and values of the ministry we serve. (Luke 16:10)
  • Standards We will do what is right before God and people by engaging in fundraising in a manner that complies with local laws and honours God. (2 Corinthians 8:20-21)
